Airservices Australia commissioned Wagga Wagga Airport’s new instrument landing system (ILS) on the morning of December 16.
The new ILS gives much improved poor weather access to the airport including for regional airline services operated by Regional Express (Rex) and QantasLink. It will also be used by Regional Express’s Wagga Wagga Airport based Australian Airline Pilot Academy for ILS pilot training, and by Airservices’ Wagga Wagga based technical training school.

The $1.6 million project was in large part funded by a federal government $1.1 million grant, with Wagga Wagga City Council, Airservices and Regional Express contributing the balance.
