Airservices Australia and the Department of Defence have issued a joint statement outlining changes to some flightpaths in and out of Perth Airport as a result of night time exercises being conducted by RAAF F-111s from Pearce from April 13-15.
The two organisations noted that the training will be carried out north of Perth from 9pm to midnight over the three nights, with some exercises occurring in an area used by civil aircraft while on approach to Perth when prevailing winds require arrivals in a northerly direction.

“Some aircraft may be diverted from their normal arrival path to the northwest of the airport to a more northerly, north eastern approach path in order to maintain safe separation,” the statement reads.
“As a result, residents living in suburbs to the north of Perth Airport under existing flightpaths may experience heavier than usual arriving civilian aircraft traffic, including jet aircraft, during these times.”
