Airservices Australia has chosen to implement a new workforce planning software solution from Quintiq which will help to provide for more efficient rostering of air traffic controllers and firefighters.
The new software will be rolled out in November, initially to air traffic control areas to help optimise staff rostering while considering a number of factors including skills, qualifications, requirements for training and meeting times, mandated safety requirements, planned and unplanned leave, work agreement conditions, equitable shifts, and sector assignments. The system will later be rolled out into Airservices’s Aviation Rescue and Fire Fighting operations, replacing manual systems, with all phases of the implementation due during the first half of 2010.
