Air NZ chief sales and commercial officer Cam Wallace says the new flights, which will have an earlier departure time from Auckland for better onward connections, were based on customer feedback.
“Frequent LA travellers told us they wanted to be able to arrive earlier, particularly when connecting to the US East Coast,” Wallace said in a statement on Thursday.
“We’re thrilled to now be able to offer this to our customers.”

Separately, Air NZ said it would increase service on the Auckland-Vancouver route to five times a week from June to September 2015.
It was a longer seasonal increase than in 2014, when Air NZ flew five times a week between mid-July to late August.
Outside this seasonal increase and school holiday periods, Air NZ normally operates three times a week between Auckland and Vancouver.
