Other routes include Melbourne (Tullamarine) to Hobart from $41, Sydney to the Gold Coast from $45, and Jetstar’s soon-to-launch Melbourne to Margaret River route from $109.
On Tuesday, Qantas offered return flights from Sydney to Los Angeles for $859 and Sydney to San Francisco for $869.
The deal, part of the carrier’s Fly Away flash sale, required customers to book economy before 9 March.
Last week, Air New Zealand offered similar aggressive price drops to stimulate demand, with trans-Tasman flights reduced to just $66.
Finally, Tigerair offered flights starting from $49 from Melbourne to Hobart and $51 from Sydney to Gold Coast, as part of a 48-hour flash sale.
