Townsville Airport’s ARFF service has given the arrival of Jetstar flight JQ101 with a traditional ‘monitor cross’ salute.
The Jetstar flight, operated by Airbus A320 VH-XSJ, arrived at Townsville Airport from Bali a little before 0930 local time on Thursday.

The arrival was Jetstar’s inaugural international service from Bali to the North Queensland city.
The inaugural Townsville-Bali flight, JQ102, departed Townsville a little before 2300 local time on Wednesday and arrived in Bali at 0130 the following day.
The reciprocal JQ101 took off from Bali at about 0245 local time.

More than 10,000 tickets have been sold for the three times weekly flights that were launched in April.
3x a week Bali flight that departs 10:55pm and arrives 9:30am is just horrible for pax in TSV, we need an air NZ flight to auckland or a Cathay flight to Hong Kong ASAP

What to do with aircraft after hours.Use them on short haul internationals,And then put them back into the Australian system whether be it tvl to pth or what ever.Great use of aircraft on off hour circuits.

I find it hilarious the people of Townsville celebrating a service taking cashed up tourist out of town, for years people have been whining and whingeing about nobody spending money in Townsville, well this service just put another nail in that coffin.

G4george, these “cashed up tourists” are not tourists in their own city you know….. Besides, there is the opportunity to open the door for tourists to fly into Townsville from Asia with these flights. Open your mind.
