The first Jetstar 787 service from Brisbane to Bali takes off. (BACL)
Jetstar has become the first airline to operate Boeing 787s from Brisbane Airport with the launch of new services to Denpasar on the Indonesian holiday island of Bali.
The four times a week JQ47/46 services will add nearly 3,000 seats to the sector each week. The airline currently has three 787s in service, with two more aircraft due to arrive soon. The 787s are replacing Airbus A330-200s in service.

Did it start today? I swore I saw a JS787 take off over Brisvegas.

now we just need someone to do TSV/DPS like Strategic/Air Australia did. Think they used up to 3 x A320’s a week, which was too much capacity. A once or at most twice a week would work, especially if DPS/TSV continued onto somewhere in New Zealand.
No one from TSV wants to fly to BNE to get to DPS.

apparently Flight Centre or one of the other travel agency groups looked at TSV/DPS recently.
Surely in peak season TSV/DPS charters could work profitably for everyone concerned.

I would hope that at some stage Jetstar considers servicing the Canberra region. With a city of approx 380,000 plus a regional area of another 200 / 300 K surely there is an argument to be made to the QF / JS “board” about these services?
If Canberra airport is serious about international services then forget the fast train to Sydney etc but encourage operators such as JS to come to Canberra. Additionally, when taking into account the winter months consideration could be given to airlines such as Air Fiji / Air Vanuatu etc also tapping into the market. There would also be a market for Aussies to travel to NZ for skiing holidays as well ?
