Jetstar is adding two new direct routes to its Australian domestic network, with daily Gold Coast-Mackay services starting June 28 and four times weekly Melbourne-Ayers Rock flights commencing on June 29.
The announcements will see Jetstar become the only airline to operate direct services on both routes.

In addition to the new city pairs, Jetstar has also announced it is increasing its Sydney-Ayers Rock services to daily from June 28 and adding a second daily Brisbane-Townsville flight from April 14. However, the airline says that it will also reduce from four times daily to twice daily its Mackay-Brisbane schedule.

it would be great if Jetstar continued on to Broome from either Ayers Rock or Alice Springs. Airfares have become very expensive to and from Broome. Tourism in the Kimberley needs affordable air connections.
