Jetstar’s first 787 has emerged from the paintshop at Boeing’s Everett plant ahead of its delivery to Australia next month.
Jetstar released a set of images of 787-8 VH-VKA on its Flickr page on Saturday after images of the aircraft on the Boeing flightline had originally been posted by Flickr user moonm and were quickly shared widely via Twitter.

The Qantas Group has 14 787-8s on order for Jetstar. VH-VKA is due to be delivered in late September, with two more to follow before the end of the year.
Jetstar’s 787 preparations were comprehensively covered in the July issue of Australian Aviation.
I’m sure Qantas is paying for this, just they have done in the past.

Are you kidding, Mike? Jetstar is bleeding Qantas dry!!?? The only reason a low budget airline can survive in Australia (remember Compass?) is due to the fact that it’s attached to a major airline, paying for its engineering, giving it landing slots FOR FREE, handing over passengers from Qantas etc. Disgraceful.

Yes it looks nice, but wouldn’t it look far better in Qantas house colours. I still think its wrong to get new aircraft and give them to your “cheap division” Jetstar has managed very well with AB330’s
Why doesn’t Jetstar flying the aircraft to all capital cities in Australia, while its on its proving flights. Just a thought.
