Jetstar carried its 100 millionth passenger on October 31, marking a significant milestone in the airline’s eight and half years of flying.
In doing so, Jetstar becomes one of the fastest growing airline brands in the world, now carrying approximately 20 million passengers a year to 60 destinations in 16 countries with a fleet of nearly 100 aircraft.

In addition to its Australia and New Zealand operations, the Jetstar group has established businesses in Vietnam, Singapore, Japan and most recently Hong Kong.
Jetstar plans to take delivery of its first 787 mid 2013 in what will represent the airline’s next significant milestone.
Jetstar Group CEO Jayne Hrdlicka said: “In 2013, with continued growth across the Jetstar network, we look forward to offering Jetstar passengers more routes, more flights, more low fares and the world’s most exciting aircraft, the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.”

The 100 millionth passenger was awarded a year’s worth of Jetstar travel, while as part of the celebrations the airline is running competitions on Facebook and giving away Jetstar flights worth more than $100,000.
