Qantas had the highest on time departure rate during August, according to the latest on time performance report from the Bureau of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Economics (BITRE).
Qantas had an on time departure rate of 86.5 per cent for the month, followed by Jetstar (82.4 per cent), Virgin Blue (81.7 per cent) and Tiger Airways (72.6 per cent). The regional airlines were led by Regional Express at 87.4 per cent, followed by Skywest (86.0 per cent) and QantasLink (80.8 per cent).

For the month, QantasLink recorded the highest rate of cancellations at 2.1 per cent, followed by Virgin Blue (1.4 per cent), Qantas (1.1 per cent), Tiger Airways (one per cent), Jetstar (0.2 per cent) and Regional Express (0.1 per cent). Skywest recorded no cancellations on its scheduled services over the month.
