We’re ready to embrace eVTOLs, says CASA CEO
Pip Spence, the CEO of CASA, talks to the sector after the Rotortech conference on why she wants the organisation to keep up with, and influence, international regulation on eVTOLs.
Navigating the changes aviation is facing will require everybody in the industry to work together as we share airspace and promote innovation and strengthen aviation. We value the strong partnership we have with organisations such as the Australian Helicopter Industry Association and we’re working hard to build better relations across general aviation by listening to your concerns.
As ROTORTECH opened, we released an advance copy of our temporary instrument allowing helicopter pilots to obtain muti-engine class ratings until regulations are changed to formally create the class. This was an example where we liaised with industry through our technical working group and an associated sub-group. Important to this was the input of Myles Tomkins and Ray Cronin from the AHIA, who provided subject matter expertise.
