AVALON CEO TO RETIRE
The CEO of the AMDA, the organiser of the Avalon Airshow, Ian Honnery, will be retiring at the end of March this year. His replacement will be the current CEO of Avalon Airport, Justin Giddings. Ian Honnery has been the driving force behind the Australian International Airshow from its start up 46 years ago with the Schofields Aero Club and the subsequent events at Richmond and then more recently at Avalon Airport, Victoria. The new AMDA CEO has been the CEO at Avalon airport since 2008. In that time, he has seen the airport’s expansion into an international airport and more recently into a new hub for Jetstar’s domestic operations into Melbourne.
