Army Tiger program overcomes hurdles

Once hailed as a “model program” and the “lead project in the overall reform of acquisition processes”, the Tiger Armed Reconnaissance helicopter program for the Australian Army, has been becalmed in recent years by a mix of certification, contractual and serviceability issues which have now left it running about two years behind schedule.

But the Defence Material Organisation (DMO)’s Air 87 project office and prime contractor, Australian Aerospace, have recently achieved some critical project milestones.
