As the world celebrates International Women’s Day on 8 March, we are inviting women in the industry to enter for Female Aviation Leader of the Year at our upcoming Australian Aviation Awards.
It’s one of 24 categories included in our first program, which will conclude with a gala dinner in Sydney on Thursday, 25 August 2022.
To coincide with this year’s theme for International Women’s Day of #BreakTheBias, this award recognises a female leader who has most effectively shaped her business’ success.
It is open to all female aviation professionals who hold a management or leadership position in a business, organisation or institution that supports aviation.
Female aviation leaders working across all areas of the aviation industry can either submit directly or nominate their colleagues and peers for the award, including airlines, consultancies, airports, industry associations, technology and software, defence business, manufacturers, small-to-medium enterprises (SMEs), tourism, training, university or research institutions.
The submissions are an opportunity for you to reflect on and highlight your major successes, achievements or milestones over the assessment period of between 1 January and 31 December 2021, and how your leadership contributed to the outcome.
In your submissions, make sure you detail your approach to leadership, diversity and inclusion, and how it influences your actions and activities in your business, and highlight the initiatives you developed as a leader and the success of these initiatives.
You must also demonstrate the strategies and tactics you have implemented to generate new business and/or increase existing business.
If you are not in a revenue-centric role, you could outline the strategies you applied to support positive business transformation.
To strengthen your entry, you could provide or refer up to four supporting documents for the judges’ consideration, including financial or business metrics, images, statistics, transcripts, media coverage, accolades, testimonials or recommendations/references and other relevant information.
You could also submit an optimal short video of up to 30 seconds long to stand out from your competitors, and answer the question: “What does business success mean to you?”
All aviation-related female leaders are encouraged to enter irrespective of age or geographical location.
